Shama, just back from two week vacation. I have 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Really found it interesting to see how everyone wants to use a different mode to communicate. I thought getting everyone on Facebook would be a kick, but found out that some don't do Internet at all, and some only want to do Fax. Adoption of social media is moving along, but still will take time before all embrace.

Unfortunately, I can also relate!!

I've sold websites for 13 years and twice I've worked with clients who didn't want to put an email address on their website because they didn't want to have to check their email! They wanted to be contacted by phone only. I gasped.

You can have a website without email, but you certainly can't actively participate in social media without email!! And if you don't like to write, social media can be tough.

Dear god...seriously? Looks like companies are still further behind then I thought. If you don't have a website don't ask me to recommend social media techniques for marketing. Get a website? Then maybe we could talk.

Good point, and short & sweet. Social media may still be for those people, but it sounds more like they need to outsource any non-direct interactive campaigns to their "marketing go-to people," so to speak.

I can totally relate!

I am constantly trying to educate clients that every new fabulous, shiny app is not necessarily a fit for them. One client in particular (that basically does collections) wanted a Facebook page. I don't know many who would be a fan of a their business. Strongly advised against it :)
