Hi I’m Dave Kaminski of Web Video University with some more web video tips for Shama.TV. Today we are going to be talking about getting traffic with web video.

So what’s to talk about? You just mass upload your videos to a bunch of different video-sharing sites right?

Well, that did work a while ago but not so much today. Instead, what I recommend you do is a video podcast, which is exactly what Shama is doing on this site. Why do I recommend a video podcast? Well, one, because it is your site and you own and control the traffic. That is not the case if the traffic is going to a video sharing site. Number two, your videos can be picked up by podcast directories which have a lot of authority in the video world and have a lot of eyeballs landing on them. Number three, your videos can be distributed and found through iTunes, and there are a whole lot of people out there who use iTunes. And number 4, you can take your podcast videos and upload them to video sharing sites anywhere.

Now, let me give you some proof that using podcasting can easily give you top rankings in google. I took the title of one of Shama’s videos from Shama.TV and googled it. Now, out of 24,000 results it was number one.

To further prove this point I went to my own video podcast site and did the same with one of my videos. Out of 20 million results, my video was listed and both number one and number two.

So there you go. If you want a way to generate traffic to your videos, have that traffic come to your own site and still have the ability to spread your videos all over the internet, then video podcasting is the way to go.
