Hey, Shama. I’ve been enjoying your book. Great advice here, too. Too many marketers sacrifice design for functionality, and vice-versa.
Hi Shama–
What a wonderful site this is…especially appreciate the info on new privacy settings from Facebook.
Look forward to visiting more!
Bravo! Always good advice Shama.
I feel you but with that being advised, it kind of goes against the whole “directing people to me from Facebook” premise right? If people enjoy reading my blog I would rather them go to my blog just incase facebook decides to shut down tomorrow. I just feel funny about having all of my business attracting endeavors via social media sites as we have absolutely no control over their lifespan or functionality.

Hi Eric,
There is certainly a balance. I’ve always recommended using social media tools in order to attract audiences to your website. Precisely because you have no control over the lifespan of the sites. Build OUT of networks, and leverage them while you can.
Thanks Todd. = )
Welcome Linda. Glad you enjoyed it! = )
Thanks Ken! = )
Thanks Shama! You’re awesome!

Agree. It’s important to understand the fact that in life, a good first impression is key to success. Here’s why. Right or wrong, people will form an immediate opinion of you based upon how you dress and how you look. Follow that up with an intelligent conversation from the heart and you may very well end up with a new friend for life. The same process applies to web sites and blogs. The first impression should “POP” and grab the viewer’s attention. The content will keep them there. And that’s exactly how I felt when I came across your site and book! Keep up the great work. Mitch
Shama,
I would like to get your opinion on my blog if possible. Please email me personally marketing@javaboi.net if you do have time for this sort of thing.
